Nation Wide Safety Day
The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) is the voice of the recycling industry promoting safe, economically sustainable and environmentally responsible recycling through networking, advocacy and education.
ISRI members across the country participate in Safety Stand-Down Day on June 17th by taking at least one hour with front line employees to focus on health and safety issues.
A&W Iron & Metal discussed environment-specific safety, including heat-related illness detection and prevention; coupled with procedures for shutting down equipment and taking shelter the the Yard expects sever weather.
In 2020, 22 ISRI member companies spanning 103 facilities reported that they engaged more than 3,000 employees in Safety Stand-Down Day, including training in first aid & CPR, blind-spot awareness, safety leadership, risk assessment and COVID-19 protocols.
